Prayer Flags

The hanging of Tibetan Prayer Flags has a long history. According to an article by Timothy Clark that I found online,

‘The ancient Buddhist prayers, mantras and powerful symbols displayed on them produce a spiritual vibration that is activated and carried by the wind across the countryside.  All beings that are touched by the wind are uplifted and a little happier.  The silent prayers are blessings spoken on the breath of nature. Just as a drop of water can permeate the ocean, prayers dissolved in the wind extend to fill all of space.’

A wonderful  friend of mine has been mailing me weekly packages of ‘flags’ to put on the Beacon.  Today i borrowed my neighbor’s orchard ladder and put them up! Thanks for your help Bob!.

energy frozen releases

relieved

thaw puddles a brittle heart

mild

muffling the clarity of direction

fragments emerging

dead old and dry

memories from before

not yet dissembled to soil

winter thaw glimpses

the other side

revolution or evolution coming?

The journeys that other creatures take which crossed my path…

After a snow the Path changes.  It is obscured, loses its clarity/presence and withdraws under a blanket of white.  Clearing it with my shovel feels like excavating an underground stream.

spending some time noticing the relationship between light and shadows.  they (shadows) become clearer closer to the source. 

Gesture - Huddle. January 28, 2009 

The clarity and energy of yesterday’s sun shifted to a wall of descending white today. Activity replaced with lethargy - the open stretch by the inward curl.
